What this means
The Gospel is not only a message to study, it is a Person to come to. “Taste and see” is an invitation to learn by coming, trusting, and finding that the Lord is truly good. Many people try to judge God from a distance, but Scripture calls us to trust Him, and to discover His goodness as we do.
This does not mean a life without trouble. Psalm 34 was written in a time of pressure and danger, and it points to the Lord as a safe refuge. In the Gospel, we see the Lord’s goodness most clearly in the gift of His Son, and the blessing promised here is for the one who simply trusts in Him.
A simple response
- Come honestly to the Lord, as you are.
- Trust His promise, and His character.
- Keep turning to Him, and learn His goodness firsthand.
