What this means

This was spoken to a man who knew he was in trouble and asked, “What must I do to be saved?” The answer is not a list of steps to earn favour. It is a Person: “the Lord Jesus Christ.” Salvation is found in Him.

To “believe on” Christ is more than agreeing with facts. It is turning from self-trust and placing your full confidence in the Lord Jesus. He is Lord, able to save completely. When a person truly believes, it does not stay private. It reaches a home. God is able to work in families as His word is heard and believed.

A simple response

  • Speak to God honestly: “Lord, I need to be saved.”
  • Place your trust in Christ Himself, not in effort or tradition.
  • Ask God to make Christ clear to you.
